Did you know?

Yesterday was a rainy day here in Wichita, so hubby and I went to get a new Social Security card for him, since he is now a citizen of the US. I was told that SS office didn't automaticaly change his status until we had requested the new card. I thought that it would have been automaticaly done when he received the citizenship certificate. So if you ever know anyone who changes their status remember that it is very important to get to the SS office and update the card. There is so much red tape, and hoops to jump. But I guess that is what makes us a great nation.

Naturalization

Today we received our letter from INS that my DH is going to get his citizenship, finally. Now we never have to worry about him getting sent back to Mexico. We have been married for 10 1/2 yrs and are doing good. November 19, 2010 he will become a naturalizied citizen and we look forward to no more worries. The kids are happy to get out of school for the day, not understanding any thing else, but they will in time.

I've been online just busy. I am finally updating blog.

With summer here and kids home I just can't get into my crafts. The kids went to summer camp for 4 days so I got in my craft room and made boxes. Next week we are going to try to have a garage sale so I decided to put my stuff in the sale. Want to share what I have been up to.

In a group I am in SCALhints someone shared a link for boxes. I really loved this sample so I came up with this one.

Since I got started making these boxes I dug out my matchboxs and but together some more boxes. My son thought the mushroom box was great. He is 30 and still likes my creations.

Here is another pattern I found on the web and created my own design. The drawer pullies are charms for jewerly. I personally have never thought about using charms. They look beautiful on here.
This is a different paper and the drawer handles are make with dimentional stickers. On the topper this sticker reads "Just Because".

This is the last of this kind of box I have to share. The paper is christmas paper I bought from WalMart about 2 yrs ago on clearance. The paper is gold and silver. I just love this one.
My daugher made a box and I promised her I would share it also. She is 7 and loves to to craft things with me, so while the older 4 were at camp she was busy with me creating. Here is her drawers.

Now for a personal side of me. About 3 months ago we were given a wonderful dog. She is about 6 yrs old and very well behaved. The reason her "Momma" had to get rid of her was because her can not be left alone. I thought that would be ok because with 7 people in this family someone is almost always home. Yesterday B98FM radio here in Wichita, had a listener appreition day and I wanted the kids to go. So, I decided to put the dog in the basement where she could not destroy anything. I forgot about the cat door we made so the kitty could go in and out for her food. Here is what the dog did to here door. The door started out at 10x10 inches. Just big enough for the cat and the dog could only get here head through the door. Now the door is big enough for the dog to fit through. She really worked on the door. I don't have a pic of the door before but I have also shared a pic of the dog. I hate to get rid of her and I just could stand leaving her in the car with the weather being as hot as it has been. Temps are around 100 now so it would have been 110 or more in the car.

This dog is part boxer and about 60 lbs. So she is not a small dog.

I have one more post for the day and it is a vinyl I did for my front door and trying to work up the courage to sell these. If anyone is interested in the SVG for this send me an email and I will send you one.
This reads "Welcome to our home". Husband is Hispanic and decided to make something for his friends and family when the come to visit.

Ok, I have rambled on long enough so thank you stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment. I love to see what others think of my work.

Birth announcements

I have not been around much since yahoo messed with my account. I up dated my yahoo messenger and then be problem started, I could no longer sign onto yahoo. So for about 3 weeks I kept calling yahoo and asking why. Finally they resolved the issue, after I had already decided that I would loose the account, I started another account. Now I have 2 accounts and yahoo still is all messed up. I am moderator in SCALHINTS and for what ever reason part of my emails are going to the first account and some emails are going to the new account. Go figure.

Any way I have finally almost finished making some cards and wanted to share them with everyone. I love the design, they are simple but say alot. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have making them. There are a gift to my income tax preparer and then I am going to see if I can make money at selling them. I am trying to make the lettering in SCAL so there is not so much glueing. My fingers just about didn't want to let go of the paper, I had so much glue on the.

Next week after I learn to weld my letters together I am also going to make this in spanish. I think they will be just as beautiful.
I am going to make a frame for the photo of the baby above the name. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Thank you for looking.

Yahoo problems again

I have been unable to sign onto Yahoo for this being the second day! I have called yahoo and they are aware of the problem and trying to resolve it. Today I read they have fixed the problem with messenger but I still can not get on there either. I am so tried of yahoo. If I was smart enough I would love to start another web site. Not that smart and never could do it. I am honest with myself, I just have to blow some steam. I am still around, hopefully I am not missing out on anything good.

Take care and will jump in when able.

Here is a new card I just made. I am in a group SCALhints and Penny the owner of the group sent me an email saying she couldn't wait for me to make this card with a pocket watch on it. So, I emailed and said don't hold you breath, her response was she was turning red at that point. So, I thought I should get this done ASAP before riga. set in. Here is the results.

This last photo is the inside of the card.

Hope you enjoyed it. Please leave a comment and let me know. Thanks for looking.

I have not cut this so I make no promises has to how fast or slow it is. Please enjoy and refer your friends to my site to get their own copy. Here is the color photo I took the image from.
